UNDERDOG GLOBAL PARTNERS (UGP) ACQUIRES RIGHTS TO NAPOLI WOMEN’S BASKETBALL (NWB)
Underdog Global Partners (UGP), a global investment firm which owns and operates various sports-related assets, is pleased to announce that it has acquired the rights to Napoli Women’s Basketball (NWB).
In compliance with Italy’s Lega Basket Femminile (Women’s Basketball League), UGP has received approval to compete in the upcoming Serie A2 Women’s Basketball season, the second highest level of women’s basketball in Italy.
UGP will be the principal owner and operator of Napoli Women’s Basketball, adding to the group’s growing portfolio which includes Italian Serie A club Napoli Men’s Basketball.
Napoli Women’s Basketball will play its home games at Alcott Arena, sharing the venue with Napoli Men’s Basketball. Ultimately, both clubs will play their home games at the proposed Napoli Sports and Entertainment complex currently under development by UGP.
With women’s basketball surging in popularity globally, UGP’s investment in a new women’s club reflects the firm’s broader vision to create a diversified sports and entertainment platform in Naples.
